Taliah and Sein Lowry sit down with Vogue Living to talk about the design and inspiration behind MICALO
“We were looking for about a year or so for a property that would combine country, nature, water ways, and privacy,” Lowry explains. “We were mindful about not being too isolated and not being able to use the property enough if it was too far away from everything, so when we found ‘Micalo’ we had all the privacy and seclusion we could want, yet it was five minutes away from the best coffee, restaurants and beaches.” Micalo—the homestead Lowry and her husband Sein purchased in 2021—is perched on acres of sweeping greenery by the Clarence River in Yamba, the coastal enclave a mere 45 minutes drive from Byron Bay known for its beaches and a relaxed atmosphere similar to that of its more famous neighbour. A neighbour that Lowry and her family know all too well.
