Le Viti, the name of this spectacular two acre hilltop property, in Byron’s Hinterland, means The Vines in Italian, and pays homage to not only the area’s first European settlers but also the Bundjalung Nation who named the area Newrybar, a place of climbing vines, and the delightful blend of Italian and Australian farmhouse design.
The Barn at Le Viti is pure sophistication, a perfect balance of warm rustic elements and high-end luxury, from it’s dark stained weatherboards and over-sized timber barn doors to its white-washed walls, soaring ceilings and luxe fittings and finishes. This elegant and intimate space is perfect for a couple or two, a small family, or a bride and groom, and is also available for bespoke photo shoots.
Positioned in the heart of the quaint hinterland hamlet of Newrybar which has become a destination in itself, The Le Viti Barn is surrounded by lush farms and is just a 100m walk to the award-winning Harvest Restaurant and Deli and the historic Harvest Bakery for your must-have morning coffee and pastry. A must too is a shop at the Newrybar Merchants which stocks a collective of creative works from local artisans as well as curated fine goods, Driftlab for fashion, and Luther & Co for old and new collectables. And of course the hustle and bustle of Byron with it’s award-winning restaurants, bars, eclectic boutiques and pristine beaches is just 15 minutes away.
Behind the barn doors a terracotta herringbone-tiled entry leads you beneath a French chandelier, through an imposing rendered arch to the main living area and open plan dining area which has a perfectly provisioned galley kitchen with integrated appliances, a cosy MCM House couch, luxury custom Grounded rugs and a unique, European-inspired stone plinth, topped with a welcoming wood-fueled iron fireplace.
Just off the main living area, oversized cedar doors lead to the master bedroom and a plush king bed, with a custom linen bedhead, Hale Mercantile and Bemboka linens, built-in robe, Maker & Son couch, a tv and magnificent views over the rolling hills beyond.
It’s just three steps down to a grand bathroom with stunning terracotta herringbone tiles, beautifully curved and rendered shower walls with a double shower, beautiful stone bathtub, an elegant brass mirror and more of those stunning views.
The media room is a cosy TV lounge room. It has a built-in queen-size daybed which can be made up with Hale Mercantile linens for an additional two guests on request (additional charges apply). This room also features a custom-made clothes rail, full length mirror and a smart tv.
And outside, the deck offers a 6-seater Inartisan outdoor dining table and an inviting lounging area under the vines which drape down over the rustic hardwood pergola.
And at day’s end? It’s spectacular Hinterland sunsets past the 100 year old fig tree and across Le Viti’s Puglia-inspired gardens filled with citrus, olive trees, rosemary and lavender. We suspect it’ll also be with cocktail in hand, spiked with some freshly-picked citrus and a sprig or two of herbs from the pots on the verandah.
