We’ve tried to make sure that with careful blending of interior and exterior materials and our signature softly muted colour palette throughout, we’ve created a soothing and calming environment that extends an open invitation to go outside an immerse yourself in all that’s great about a balmy Byron day or night. Whether it’s to take a cuppa or a glass of wine, completing a half-finished board game, chowing down on a mezze plate you’ve made yourself from the finest of local ingredients, or just for a bit of shut-eye in one of the exquisite ceiling-hung cane seats from Byron Bay Hanging Chairs, you can be sure that outside at BBA is as scrummy as inside.
For instance we love to merge warm timber floorboards seamlessly with pale timber decking, add a beautiful daybed with an eclectic grouping of squishy cushions (there’s always got to be an abundance of cushions inside or out!), a simple log side-table, a beautiful Bemboka throw in case an afternoon doze is in order, an elegant long-leafed potted palm and the Sonos music system playing a curated Byron Bay play list and boom! You’re on holidays – coastal style.

Our formula is simple really:
Function is as important as design (as is a touch of luxury!) so we make sure we have deliciously comfy and inviting places to sit and eat and to create chill zones where possible: a table setting, lounge chairs, a reading nook, a private space in the garden. Places where people can come together as a group or you can have a relax solo.
We carry the same inside materials, colours and textures through to the outside and layer with rugs, bespoke artisan pieces and one-off’s we’ve found on our travels or Etsy. And then there’s greenery. Lots and lots of greenery from stately pots of Mother-in-law’s tongue, towering palms, cascading devil’s ivy to boldly structural agaves.
