THE BOWER HOUSE
With lush landscaping and casual, elegant furnishings, The Bower House evokes feelings of relaxed luxury. The open-plan interior spaces are modern and light-filled, from the galley kitchen to the expansive living and dining area with its metres of billowing black, linen see-through curtains. Woven textures, natural materials and a superior level of quality and craftsmanship are seamlessly woven into the interior aesthetic.
MCM House ‘Joe’ linen sofas (which was a staple for Byron Beach Abodes design in the early years), hand-printed block cushions, jute rugs, woven baskets, hemp string bags used as wall art, artisan-woven Dharma Door mandalas and HK Living wall hangings sit side by side with architectural, black and brass wall lights, webbed dining chairs and a statement timber dining table. And in the bedrooms, bespoke bedheads seem to float effortlessly on the wall and raw timber logs provide an organic side table. The edges of the hexagonal tiles in the bathroom are left whole and are allowed to float down the wall at an angle to create an organic edge. It’s a delightful and unexpected design detail, and BBA design is all about the detail. The colour palette throughout is a combination of soft greys, taupe and rust. Outside the paved, sheltered terrace with daybed, fringed hammock and oversized woven chairs with their deep, upholstered seats, is encircled by private, tropical gardens.
