It’s a philosophy she’s nailed with her performance-driven athleisure-wear designs which are currently available in more than 250 retailers globally, as well as on e-commerce sites like Net-A-Porter and Revolve, and her own e-commerce site too of course.
"Everyone was wearing their gym gear but it still looked like they were going to the gym,” Pip told Forbes recently. “So we made a real point of our designs being very high-end driven, following colour trends, and really sticking to fashion inspiration, but being functional as well," she said. Undoubtedly her time designing for Sass & Bide, Ksubi and General Pants stood her in good stead as well as her smarts in recognising the enormous growth potential in the activewear industry which now owns 24% of the apparel market.
We like to think that Pip drew lots of inspiration for a new range or two from her recent stay in BBA’s latest new build, The Cabin, which is such a bold statement in superb design and unbridled sophisticated luxury. P.E. Nation couldn’t sit better with the Byron lifestyle, whether it’s wearing it on the walk to the iconic Cape Byron Lighthouse via Captain Cook Lookout and Tallows Beach, or along any one of the long stretches of sandy beaches which dot the coast line. Then straight to drinks and dinner at any one of the exciting new eateries that now populate Byron. Cocktails, tapas and music into the wee small hours? Tick. Dinner watching the sunset over the ocean in Byron’s only hatted restaurant? Tick. A bit of coastal Mexican like huevos rancheros and guacamole eaten streetside, or green papaya salad, yellow curry or sticky beef ribs, reminiscent of the flavours of Asia at a table just for two? Tick.
See how Pip spent her time and what she love most about her holiday in our beachside paradise.
What did you love about your getaway?
I had the most magical stay – the vibe and energy and décor and flow of the cabin is beyond epic. The perfect location for a dream holiday!!!
What did you love about The Cabin?
The bedrooms and bathrooms are what dreams are made of. The open plan into the deck and pool area are key for chilling out but also awesome to have friends over and entertain.
What did you do in your time in Byron?
I had the most relaxing experience at Comma – for all your spa treatment needs. Lunch at Raes and then the afternoon at Wategos is a must, followed by a trek up to the lighthouse. The Mez Club, Light Years and The Pacific are all top of my list of places to dine at, as is Harvest and The Farm. Cocktails at The Loft and Locura. There is just so many places to check out!!
Some memories of your stay...
From the bean bags on the deck area, to the cosy fireplace, to luxurious bathtubs, to basking in the sun in the pool, and riding bikes to the beach… I certainly felt right at “home” !!!! I totally lived in the linen robes and swanned around as if it was all mine ha!! Oh take me back, The Cabin and Byron has stolen my heart!!
