The Top Shop milk bar and takeaway was founded in 1951, making it the second oldest continuously running business in Byron Bay after The Great Northern Hotel. In 2008 Andy Gordon converted the old weatherboard on top of a hill into a cafe and take away store and it has become the cherished stop for foodies.
Ask any Byron Bay local, expat or new resident their favourite spot for coffee or lunch and they’ll say The Top Shop. It’s easy going and distinct appeal to all walks of life makes for one of the most enjoyable locales and the milk bar inspired menu is delicious. Try the American burger with fries or the array of sweet treats. There are plenty of healthy vegetarian options and the smoothies and milkshakes are divine. Or just grab a coffee, lounge on the lawn and soak up the sunshine.
Top Shop place huge value the great products their suppliers provide. They love supporting local businesses, growers and farmers markets which is another reason we just love them.
