The Cabin is a bold statement in superb design and unbridled sophisticated luxury and is set amidst the treetops in a quiet position in Byron’s Golden Grid. Its moody and earthy ambience starts with the cladding which is recycled Jarrah, weathered to a perfect soft grey and having the effect of bedding the structure beautifully amongst the towering eucalypts on the block. Some of the Jarrah off-cuts were used to make bespoke furniture pieces too.
A sleek three-storey lime-washed spiral staircase creates the stunning spine to the building, weaving between the media bunker with its French linen-covered, built-in feather sofa, the living room with its plush custom-made velvet sofa wrapped around the French Oblica fireplace, two powder rooms and two beautifully appointed ensuited bedrooms.
A Ralph Lauren bed head frames the king-size bed in the first master bedroom with the feature of its luxury ensuite, a double shower inside and a sensual black bath and shower outdoors which connects guests to the natural beauty of The Cabin’s surrounds. The 2nd master suite has a loft bedroom with a resort-comfortable queen-size bed and a stunning ensuite with a deep round bath and oversized rain shower head. They sit beneath a stark black-framed geometric window fringed with billowing linen curtains, and the views go all the way to the Cape Byron Lighthouse. Bemboka towels and robes of course.
The American Oak kitchen with its Miele appliances is just steps away from the beautiful horizon edge pool with the latest in natural filtration making the water good enough to drink.
The contemporary, high-end interiors feature an elegant, minimalist aesthetic that sits perfectly beside richly textured rugs and natural Limestone floors throughout. Warm natural timbers, stone benchtops, statement lighting and lots of layering of linen in custom-made soft furnishings like billowing curtains, bedding and the plumpest of cushions complete the picture. The muted colour palette of soft greys, black and Porters colours developed just for BBA, create the perfect backdrop to the bespoke furniture and objet d’art scattered throughout this stunning property.
Then you just need to add the large expanses of custom-made black steel-framed glass windows and doors that invite the Byron sunlight in and also put the giant eucalyptus trees and abundant birdlife seemingly within arms reach.
That’s The Cabin. It is pure sophistication, secluded and intimate and is the pinnacle of Byron Bay luxury accommodation.
